Los Angeles Conservation Corps $1.5 Million
The Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC) provides at-risk young adults and school-aged youth with job skills training, education and work experience, emphasizing conservation and service projects that benefit the community. Since 2016, Blumenfield provided more than $1 million to LACC to maintain landscaping, conduct community clean-ups and other projects throughout the Third District, with a substantial amount of that funding dedicated to work within the boundaries of the former CRA Project Area in Reseda. Blumenfield also provided office space and parking for LACC vehicles at the West Valley Municipal Building to reduce travel time and costs – enhancing the efficacy of public funds. In 2019, LACC cleared over 44,000 pounds of trash and over 35,000 square feet of weeds in Reseda.
