Celebrate Israel 66
In honor of Israel's 66th Independence Day the Celebrate Israel Festival will take place on May 18th, 2014 at Cheviot Hills Recreation Center with an expected attendance of 20,000 community members.
The festivities will begin at 11am with many new exciting attractions throughout the festival. Tickets are sold online at $5 each for both adults and children. Door prices for both kids and adults will be $10. This year all food at the festival will be Glatt Kosher under the strict supervision of RCC and Kehila
This year’s theme – Tour of Israel will give attendees the opportunity to visit various areas of Israel.
•Tel Aviv - Stop by Tel Aviv beach and take photos on the sandy beach, eat Falafel or have a drink at the bar or enjoy the sounds from the Karaoke lounge. Don’t forget to stop by the IAC booth located near the beach to make your own kite and fly it high above the city.
•Jerusalem – Visit our 32ft long Kotel where you can put your note that will be delivered to the Holy Land by the Jerusalem Foundation. Kids Judaica arts & crafts and pottery making with the Jerusalem Foundation for the entire family.
•Dead Sea - Herzel, Golda Meir and former Prime Minister David Ben Guryon will be stopping by for photo opps. Don’t miss out.
•Negev & Arava – Camel rides, beduin tent, rhythmic drum circle and desert sand art are just a few of the attractions to expect
•Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) – Stop by to build your own Kibbutz with your entire family on our areal map of the Kinneret.
Headliner Performances will include The Idan Raichel Project at 5:00PM on the main stage and Rinat Gabay on the kids stage at 2:00PM. Check our website for complete lineup.
Rothchild Street artist pavilion will showcase local Jewish and Israeli artists with their creative jewelry, crafts, gifts and home decor.
BizTec & Tamid – Israel’s Start Up competition winners will be showcasing their latest innovation and ideas at our festival! This project is a collaborative effort with Tamid USC. Please stop by their pavilion near the main stage to welcome them to our community.
Mini Israel – This year’s community project, Mini Israel brought together many schools and organizations together to build a mini model of Israel. Be sure to stop by and see your community’s work.
Instagram Exhibit – Stop by our Instagram exhibit to see the winners that took part of our national Tour o Israel Instagram competition. #celebrateisraelfestival and #insta_global are the hashtags to have your photos submitted.
Teen Area – Fun and more fun for youth and teen-agers is here! We’ve built a giant Israeli amry obstacle course just for you. Challenge yourself or compete against your friends. Rock climbing, bungee jumping and amazing activities by the Israeli Scouts, Habonim Dror, Diller Fellowship and Bnei Akiba.
Amusement Park – and if this isn’t enough, we have many other arts and crafts projects, amusement rides, face painting, glitter tattoos and so much more. See you at the park!
